John Paul II Euthanasia: his last papal act

Victims - Attackers - Responsible Leaders

Pearl Harbor - 3,000 victims - 170 planes - Admiral Yamamoto

WTC & 9/11 attacks - 5,000 victims - 19 Muslims - Osama bin Laden

USA Priest Pedophilia - 12,000 victims - 5,148 priests - John Paul II + Benedict XVI + Escriba OD (the new Roman Catholic Trinity! Ripley's Believe it or Not!)

---------

No matter how much the Vatican - Benedict XVI and Opus Dei - and their puppet writers will cook up the legacy of John Paul II the Great, it will always boil down to his JPIIPPA John Paul II Pedophile Priests Army (http://jp2army.blogspot.com/) which stink like Hell...and of course his own euthanasia which is an immoral act of "assisted suicide" in the Catholic Church (and a crime in state law).

John Paul II does not deserve to be called a "saint" in American soil and by American lips in this generation and future generations because he did absolutely NOTHING for the 12,000 American children victims of his JPIIPPA John Paul II Pedophile Priests Army made of more than 5,500 priests which is ten times more than the 500 Swiss Guards that shielded him as he committed Crimen Sollicitationis at the Vatican Temple of Sodomy
(watch video http://pope-ratz.blogspot.com/2007/07/benedict-xvi-secret-videos-he-doesnt.html).

John Paul II wanted to die at the Vatican at all cost (and not die in the hospital where he could received the medical care necessary). He got his wish of dying within the splendors of the Vatican Palace or the modern Temple of Solomon, the chamber of the Holy of Holies.

He got his stately funeral at St. Peter's Square where SNAP protestors were told to stay away.

History has been written and John Paul II wrote his own history for himself. His greatness, he believed lied in the array of writings he left behind - which the Opus Dei will use daily as the "infallible words of God". But equally or of worse magnitude was the JPIIPPA John Paul II Pedophile Priests Army mess he left behind that cost the church $2.3 billion dollars to pay up and the church and the Opus Dei do not even blink because they are filthy rich.

Judge for yourself, the last act of crime John Paul II committed - his own euthanasia or assisted suicide!

John Paul II committed the crimes of (indirect) pedophilia and (indirect) suicide. Since the crimes of the Crusade and the Inquisition, John Paul II is the worst pope in modern times for committing the worst crime against children, the least of the brethren of Christ!

At his judgement before Christ he says: "Lord, I am the most traveled pope but when did I see you sodomized by a pedophile priest under my care as the Shepherd of your flock for 26 years......?

John Paul II was a pope who did not walk his talk: "NO AUTHORITY CAN JUSTIFY EUTHANASIA" (Oh, really except by his own papal infallible power that is, duh!)
"The respect that we owe the elderly compels me once again to raise my voice against all those practices of shortening life known as euthanasia.... Euthanasia is an attack on life that no human authority can justify, because the life of an innocent person is an indispensable good". (See link below)

In 2004, John Paul II said: In this regard, I recall what I wrote in the Encyclical Evangelium Vitae, making it clear that "by euthanasia in the true and proper sense must be understood an action or omission which by its very nature and intention brings about death, with the purpose of eliminating all pain"; such an act is always "a serious violation of the law of God, since it is the deliberate and morally unacceptable killing of a human person" (n. 65). (See link below)

Those Opus Dei historians are now hurriedly re-inventing history to get their poster boy canonized speedily but...John Paul II died by his own sword and by his own words! No Josemaria androgynous tricks can un-do what John Paul II committed as crimes in his papacy - nor can the Octopus Dei continually cover them up because time will reveal all of them -- just like the JPIIPPA John Paul II pedophile Priests Army has been uncovered at the price tag of $2.3 billion!

Was John Paul II Euthanized?

Friday, Sep. 21, 2007
TIME Magazine
By Jeff Israely/ROME

In a provocative article, an Italian medical professor argues that Pope John Paul II didn't just simply slip away as his weakness and illness overtook him in April 2005. Intensive care specialist Dr. Lina Pavanelli has concluded that the ailing Pope's April 2 death was caused by what the Catholic Church itself would consider euthanasia. She bases this conclusion on her medical expertise and her own observations of the ailing pontiff on television, as well as press reports and a subsequent book by John Paul's personal physician. The failure to insert a feeding tube into the patient until just a few days before he died accelerated John Paul's death, Pavanelli concludes. Moreover, Pavanelli says she believes that the Pope's doctors dutifully explained the situation to him, and thus she surmises that it was the pontiff himself who likely refused the feeding tube after he'd been twice rushed to the hospital in February and March. Catholics are enjoined to pursue all means to prolong life.

The article, entitled "The Sweet Death of Karol Wojtyla" (using the Pope's birth name) appears in the latest edition of Micromega, a highbrow Italian bi-monthly that has frequently criticized the Vatican's stance on bioethics. The author, who heads the anesthesiology and intensive care therapy school at the University of Ferrara, says she decided to revisit the events around John Paul's death after the Vatican took a hard line in a controversy last year in Italy over euthanasia. Indeed her accusations are grave, questioning the Catholic Church's strictly traditional stances on medical ethics, including the dictum from John Paul's own 1995 encyclical Evangelium Vitae to use all modern means possible to avoid death.

Recalling the Vatican's medical reports during John Paul's last days, Pavanelli writes: "I'm surprised that I myself failed to critically examine the information. I let my perceptions conform to the hope of recovery and the official version, without confronting the clinical signs that I was seeing." While the Vatican had expressed most of its concern about breathing difficulty, which was alleviated with a tracheotomy, Pavanelli says a readily apparent loss of weight, and an apparent difficulty to swallow, was not being addressed. "The patient had died for reasons that were clearly not mentioned. Of all the problems of the complicated clinical picture of the patient, the acute respiratory insufficiency was not the principal threat to the life of the patient. The Pope was dying from another consequence of the effects on the [throat] muscles from his Parkinson's Disease... not treated: the incapacity to swallow."

The Vatican quickly fired back this week. John Paul's longtime doctor Renato Buzzonetti, who now monitors Pope Benedict XVI, said that doctors and John Paul himself all acted to stave off death. "His treatment was never interrupted," Buzzonetti told the Rome daily La Repubblica. "Anyone who says otherwise is mistaken." He added that a permanent nasal feeding tube was inserted three days before the Pope's death when he could no longer sufficiently ingest food or liquids. Buzzonetti did not specifically respond to Pavanelli's claim that John Paul needed a tube weeks, not days, before he eventually died.

The polemics come just as the Vatican again weighed in on euthanasia. The Church's doctrinal office released a one-page document, approved by Benedict, that denounced the cutting off of food and water to patients in a vegetative state even if they would never regain consciousness. This reaffirmed John Paul's stance in 2004 during the battle over ending artificial feeding for the severely brain-damaged Terri Schiavo, who was later taken off her feeding tube and died.

"The administration of food and water even by artificial means is, in principle, an ordinary means of preserving life," said the Vatican ruling, which came in response to questions from the U.S. Catholic Bishops Conference about what constitutes ordinary and extraordinary life support.

The issue of euthanasia and the Church heated up in Italy last year after a man named Piergiorgio Welby, who'd been on life support for nine years from the effects of muscular dystrophy, asked for the right to die. Eventually, the life support was suspended and he died. But when his wife, a practicing Catholic, asked for a funeral in Church, the Vatican refused. Pavanelli says that this episode prompted her to revisit John Paul's death.

The medical aspects of the Pope's final days are clearly difficult to verify from afar, and the Vatican is convinced that the actions of the both its doctors and its Pope were in absolute good faith. Of course, medical opinions can often vary. So too can those on bioethics.

Vatican rejects charges on John Paul II

A doctor alleged Wednesday that Pope John Paul II violated Catholic teaching against euthanasia by refusing medical care that would have kept him alive longer — a charge immediately dismissed by Vatican officials.

In an article in the Italian journal Micromega, Dr. Lina Pavanelli, an anaesthesiologist, questioned why John Paul was only outfitted with a nasal feeding tube on March 30, 2005, three days before he died. She said he clearly was in need of artificial nutrition well before then.

John Paul was rushed to Rome's Gemelli Polyclinic hospital two times in February 2005 with breathing crises related to his Parkinson's disease; he was released for the last time March 13. He died in his Vatican apartment on April 2, from what the Vatican said was septic shock and cardiocirculatory collapse.

The Vatican announced March 30 that John Paul had been outfitted with a nasal feeding straw to improve his nutrition so he could recover strength.

However, Vatican officials said Wednesday that the tube had actually been inserted well before March 30 but that the procedure was only announced on that date. They disclosed the information in response to Pavanelli's charges, which they said weren't serious because she had no access to the medical records and based her accusations only on press releases and news reports.

At a news conference Wednesday, Pavanelli acknowledged she didn't have access to John Paul's medical records and acknowledged the likelihood that he may have been outfitted sooner than March 30 with a nasal feeding tube.

But she maintained her core argument that he was not given adequate nutrition soon enough, saying he actually should have been given a stomach feeding tube since he needed longer-term artificial nutrition. She says she assumes John Paul's doctors offered him that option, but that he must have refused the treatment since he wasn't given it.

Catholic teaching holds that it is morally wrong to refuse "proportionate" or ordinary care, which includes water and feeding tubes; refusing such care amounts to euthanasia.

"He was fed neither at the right time, nor in the right way for the correct amount of time," Pavanelli said. That created a situation in which the pope was too weak to fend off the urinary tract infection that led to the septic shock that ultimately killed him, she charged.

In the article, Pavanelli concludes that "when the patient knowingly refuses a lifesaving therapy, his action together with the remissive or ommissive behavior of doctors, must be considered euthanasia, or more precisely, assisted suicide."

The Vatican recently repeated its position on euthanasia and feeding tubes. A document issued Sept. 14 from the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith reaffirmed that it considers the removal of feeding tubes from people in vegetative states to be an immoral act.

The Vatican distinguishes between feeding tubes, which it considers proportionate care, and "aggressive medical treatment" which can be disproportionate to any expected results or pose an excessive burden on the patient.

"In such situations, when death is clearly imminent an inevitable, one can in conscience refuse forms of treatment that would only secure a precarious and burdensome prolongation of life, so long as the normal care due to the sick person in similar cases is not interrupted," according to John Paul's 1995 encyclical "Evangelium Vitae."

Pavanelli appeared at a news conference to defend her claims alongside the widow of Piergiorgio Welby, who has been at the center of a right-to-die campaign in this predominantly Roman Catholic country.

Welby, a paralyzed writer who suffered from muscular dystrophy, died in December after a doctor carried out his wish and disconnected his respirator.

Was John Paul II euthanased?

http://www.australasianbioethics.org/Newsletters/currentbioedge.html

The deaths of popes offer rich pickings for scandal-mongers and conspiracy theorists. David Yallop sold 6 million copies of In God's Name, which argued that John Paul I was murdered in 1979 by corrupt officials who feared exposure of their shady deals, changes in Catholic teachings on contraception, cosying up to the Soviets, and so forth.

Now it is John Paul II's turn. Time magazine reports that he may have been euthanased in 2005. It bases these "grave accusations" on an article in the high-brow magazine Micromega, an offshoot of the left-wing Italian newspaper Repubblica. In "The Sweet Death of Karol Wojtyla", an anaesthetist at the University of Ferrara, Lina Pavanelli, says that the Pope refused to have a feeding tube until a few days before his death and this ultimately killed him. Time journalist Jeff Israely suggests that if Dr Pavanelli's surmises are true, the Pope or his minders may have been guilty of euthanasia.

Dr Renato Buzzonetti, doctor to both John Paul II and his successor, waved away the sensational allegations. "His treatment was never interrupted. Anyone who says otherwise is mistaken". He said that a feeding tube was inserted three days before the Pope's death when he could finally no longer ingest food or liquids.

This story has to be placed in its context, which is the malarial swamp of Italian politics. Bioethical issues like euthanasia, stem cell research and abortion are hot button issues in Italy, where Catholics have been bitterly resisting progressive trends. Micromega is known for being critical of Catholic bioethics and Dr Pavanelli's speculations leave the Vatican looking mendacious and hypocritical. The article may have been timed to coincide with a Vatican reaffirmation of the need to provide food and water even to patients who will never regain consciousness. ~

NO AUTHORITY CAN JUSTIFY EUTHANASIA
Pope John Paul II
October 31, 1998

Life of the elderly must be respected, Holy Father says in address to international conference
"The respect that we owe the elderly compels me once again to raise my voice against all those practices of shortening life known as euthanasia.... Euthanasia is an attack on life that no human authority can justify, because the life of an innocent person is an indispensable good", the Holy Father said on Saturday, 31 October, to those attending an international conference on the elderly sponsored by the Pontifical Council for Pastoral Assistance to Health-Care Workers. The Pope spoke of respect for the elderly and encouraged families to benefit from the wealth of experience that their older members have to offer. Here is a translation of his address, which was given in Italian. (See Vatican website)

The filthy rich Opus Dei - see their world empire in http://www.odan.org/

Opus Dei financier is found dismembered under bridge

By John Phillips in Rome
Published: 22 July 2006
http://news.independent.co.uk/europe/article1190540.ece

The badly beaten and mutilated corpse of Gianmario Roveraro, one of Italy's reputedly most pious financiers, was discovered "cut to pieces" under a motorway overpass near Parma yesterday, some two weeks after he was kidnapped while returning home from a meeting of the conservative Roman Catholic group Opus Dei.

Three people were arrested on suspicion of the kidnapping and macabre murder of Mr Roveraro, a banker who had been questioned by investigators in connection with the spectacular €14bn (£9.5bn) collapse of the Parmalat food empire in 2003.

He was a founder of Akros Finanziaria, a financial services group, and had helped Parmalat list its stock on the market a decade ago.

The killing recalled the murder of Roberto Calvi, the Italian financier known as "God's Banker" for his links to the Vatican, who was found hanged fromBlackfriars Bridge in London in 1982.

Police suspect Mr Roveraro's kidnapping and murder was related to a business dispute over a €500,000 property deal.

The purportedly devout Mr Roveraro vanished on 5 July on his way from attending an evening meeting of the local Milan branch of Opus Dei, of which he, along with many other top-level Italian financiers, was a member.

Despite involvement of some its members in a series of financial scandals, Opus Dei enjoyed favour under the late Pope John Paul II, who elevated it to the privileged status of a "personal prelature" within the Church and controversially gave its Spanish founder, Josemaria Escriva, a "fast track" beatification and then canonisation as a saint.

The three arrested men were identified as Emilio Toscani, 43, from Collechio, a storekeeper; Marco Baldi, 50, a native of Bologna; and Mr Botteri, 43, a financial consultant from Parma.

Mr Botteri was quoted as saying he couldn't recall any more about the murder. Police suspect Mr Roveraro may have been killed several days ago.

Mr Toscani led police to the financier's body, cut up into several parts and decomposing in the summer heat, yesterday morning, police sources said.

Since 5 July, Mr Roveraro made several telephone calls within 48 hours, to his wife Silvana and to his business assistants who he asked to sell €1m of shares in a family company. Carabinieri paramilitary police traced the alleged gang by following the signature of public telephone cards used to make calls during ransom negotiations, the sources said. Mr Roveraro was one of 64 people under investigation in the Parmalat affair and prosecutors had asked for him to be indicted on charges of belonging to a criminal organisation conspiring in fraudulent bankruptcy.

He had been on the board of Parmalat's finance subsidiary from 1990 to 1998.

A spokesman for Opus Dei said: "We want to express our closeness to the upset family. This death has hit Opus Dei very hard.

"Gianmario is not suffering any more now and is receiving the reward for what he was - an intelligent, gentle, noble and generous person."

John Paul II and 9/11 & World Trade Center Attacks and Priest-Pedophilia

Today we remember:

Victims - Attackers - Responsible Leaders

Pearl Harbor - 3,000 victims - 170 planes - Admiral Yamamoto

WTC & 9/11 attacks - 5,000 victims - 19 Muslims - Osama bin Laden

USA Priest Pedophilia - 12,000 victims - 5,148 priests - John Paul II + Benedict XVI + Escriba OD (the new Roman Catholic Trinity! Ripley's Believe it or Not!)

Today is the sixth year anniversary of the 9/11 and World Trade Center attacks that claimed the lives of more than 5,000 Americans. They are now dead and "rest in peace". The manner that claimed their lives was fast and finished and their murderers are also dead.

Today, the JPIIPPA John Paul II Pedophile Priests Army also has claimed the body, and more importantly, the SOUL of 12,000 American little boys (and girls) but these American victims do not and cannot "live in peace". The manner (committed by the criminal-pedophile priests who were never brought to trial or jailed ) that claimed their childhood, their bodies and their souls was so subtle and on-going for many years that their suffering became long-enduring and a "living hell"... that continually burns and cannot be extinguished or paid off with money - or prayer.

The consequences of the JPIIPPA are more painful than the 9/11 WTC attacks because their American little boys (and girls) victims who are now grown men (and women) continue to suffer a remorse that no Sacrament of Reconciliation can erase, a lost childhood innocence and lost faith that no Holy Water and no Holy Mass can restore -- because those years they burned upon the Altar of Sodomy of John Paul II... was and will always be a "living hell" in the Roman Catholic Church of the 20th Century. No amount of "Hail Mary" Rosary or "Our Father Escriba" Opus Dei mantra can quench the fires of this "living hell" of priest-pedophilia that was covered-up (and therefore perpetuated) by the (Sodomite) Temple of the Vatican (owned and operated by the Opus Dei! See http://jp2m.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html)

The JPIIPPA has cost the American Catholic church more than $2 Billion dollars. On September 7, 2007, the Diocese of San Diego settled $198.1 million dollars with its victims, almost a third of the $660 million that Los Angeles paid its victims. Bishop Robert Brom said in a news release: "We pray that this settlement will bring some closure and healing to the years of suffering experienced by these victims." And then the diocese will withdraw its bankruptcy filing as part of the agreement. (The bankruptcy filing was part of the strategy of cover-up.)
Watch one of the San Diego victims interview http://media.cbstv2.com/player.php?id=090707_6p_priestabusesettlement

NO AMOUNT of money and no amount of psychotherapy - or prayer - can bring healing to these victims.

The USA Priest-Pedophilia is the Achilles Heel of John Paul II.

John Paul II does not deserve to be called a "saint" in American soil and by American lips in this generation and all generations to come!

Pope John Paul II never apologized to these victims of his papal pedophile army. And Benedict XVI from his ostentatious Vatican apartment barely says anything about it. In fact the John Paul II clones of Cardinals and Bishops are defending their pedophile priests by saying that "other religion has done it also". Benedict XVI and the Vatican have only hogwash statements released from their ivory towers. See http://pope-ratz.blogspot.com/2007/06/benedict-xvi-book-on-jesus-missed.html

What is more mysterious than the Da Vinci Code is that -- the core group responsible for the success of this Roman Catholic clergy abuse is !!! -- the Opus Dei, a.k.a. Octopus Dei, the ultimate cover-upper of the JPIIPPA because they are the ones who (own and operate the Vatican) controlled the 26 years papacy of John Paul II.

Everything that came into John Paul II's attention and everything that John Paul II said to the outside world was filtered through the Opus Dei. The one and ONLY spokesman of John Paul II was ONE Opus Dei member, Joaquin Navarro-Valls. The Opus Dei and JPII were too busy with their dead-saint-machine-factory and the canonization of their own dead-founder, Escriba, that they neglected and placed in the lowest rung the pedophile priests and their victims who were alive. The Opus Dei were too busy with the sanctity of the dead-Escriba that they failed to (Holy) see the sodomy of the living priests -- and therefore they covered-up the "sins of the fathers" under the rug of the Holy Chair of Peter! The Da Vinci Code premise that the Opus Dei will do everything to cover-up the marriage of Christ and Mary Magdalene pales in comparison to the Opus Dei cover-up of the JPIIPPA John Paul II Pedophile Priests Army!

Watch "Sex crimes and the Vatican" the 2006 BBC documentary which the Octopus Dei doesn't want you to see.

Timeline of John Paul II Pedophile Priests Army abuse in USA:

January 2002: The Boston Globe launches investigative series into allegations of Roman Catholic priests sexually abusing minors and archdiocese cover-ups in cases that go back decades.

June 2002: As the scandal widens, U.S. bishops adopt a zero-tolerance policy.

Then-president Bishop Wilton Gregory apologizes: “We are the ones, whether through ignorance or lack of vigilance, or, God forbid, with knowledge, who allowed priest abusers to remain in ministry and reassigned them to communities where they continued to abuse.”

January 2003: A special California law lifts the statute of limitations on civil cases for one year, allowing alleged victims to sue, regardless of how long ago the incidents occurred.

September 2003: Archdiocese of Boston agrees to pay $85 million to more than 500 people.

February 2004: Church-appointed National Review Board rebukes U.S. bishops for “shameful” failure to stop widespread clerical sex abuse over the past half-century.

Tally shows 10,667 abuse claims involving minors – 4 percent of the clergy (about 3 percent in San Diego).

July 2004: Archdiocese of Portland, Ore., becomes first Catholic diocese to seek bankruptcy protection in the face of sexual abuse claims.

December 2004: Orange County diocese agrees to pay $100 million to 90 victims, with payouts ranging from $50,000 to nearly $4 million.

May 2006: Frustrated by delays and stalled settlement talks, a Los Angeles judge coordinating hundreds of Southern California lawsuits releases five San Diego cases for trials.

February 2007: San Diego diocese files for bankruptcy pro-tection the day before the first trial was to begin. It is the fifth and largest diocese to seek Chapter 11 reorganization in the face of roughly 150 claims.

July 2007: Los Angeles archdiocese agrees to pay $660 million to 508 victims in what is by far the largest Catholic settlement of its kind.

Yesterday: The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego reaches a $198.1 million agreement with 144 childhood sexual abuse victims. The diocese also promises to release church documents about abusers' histories.

John Paul II canonized an Italian-missionary-rapist-priest in China and fascist-Franco ally Escriba

John Paul: A loveless legacy

Daily Pioneer

http://www.christianaggression.org/item_display.php?type=ARTICLES&id=1113880473

Seemingly, all roads led to Vatican City last week. Virtually all political eminences of the Western world, as also national and spiritual dignitaries of other countries and religious traditions, flocked to pay respects to the Bishop of Rome, shepherd of the Roman Catholic Church, who had one of the best attended funerals in world history. Through all the solemn grandeur of the ceremony, however, one noted with admiration the silent dissent of the People's Republic of China, which simply stayed at home.

Unlike India's political elite, who seek international endorsement through self-abasement and compromise, China's mandarins demand respect through dogged assertion of national pride. Western media hype over the funeral of John Paul II did not send Beijing scurrying to send a representative for a photo-op with George Bush or Cardinal Ratzinger. Instead, the atheist regime remembered how the Chinese people suffered at the hands of the Catholic Church and how the late Pope bestowed sainthood upon 120 "evil-doing sinners".

Bishop Fu Tieshan of the state-run Catholic Church said: "Some of those canonised" perpetrated outrages such as raping and looting in China and committed unforgivable crimes" (Associated Press, October 1, 2000). One saint was Albericus Crescitelli, an Italian missionary who died in the anti-Western, anti-Christian Boxer uprising. He "was notorious for taking the 'right of the first night' of each bride under his diocese," according to the State Administration of Religious Affairs.

---Insert from another source:

An Italian missionary Albericus Crescitelli (1863-1900) with a Chinese name "Guo Xide" still stirs anger and feelings of humiliation amongst people of the Yanzibian area of Northwest China's Shaanxi Province. B The Italian went to this Chinese area to preach in 1898 and ordered that all the daughters of his church followers be "baptized" by him on the eve of marriage. He then raped every one of them. The wives of all local Christians of Chinese areas Pan Changfu, Zheng Ganren and Yang Hai had all been raped by the missionary before marriage. He stole land and property from the people and forcibly pillaged their fortunes. He actively converted local tyrants, bandits and hooligans to help him extort "taxes" and labor services. In 1898, the area was severely flooded, and Albericus Crescitelli was "authorized" to hand out government aid from the Qing Dynasty government. But he told the suffering peasants they had to join his church in order to get more aid as is being done to the tsunami victims of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh as reported widely in all newspapers. He also ran a blade company in China and lent the money to peasants at an exorbitant interest rate. The local christians who had Italian children by the missionary, decided that they could no longer put up with this fucking christian missionary and killed him in 1900. Albericus Crescitelli should better be called as the saint of missionary position. http://www.china.org.cn/ddd/e-19.htm---

India, however, crawled without being asked to bend. Perhaps out of deference to the Italian-Roman Catholic origins of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, the Government followed Italy in declaring three days of State mourning. And far from remembering the atrocities of the Goa Inquisition, for which the Pope refused to apologise on his India visit, every luminary with access to a centimetre of newspaper space recorded a vacuous eulogy in honour of the departed soul.

In Tamil Nadu, where the Kanchi Shankaracharya is being persecuted by a vindictive regime trying to whip up anti-Brahmin votes for the Assembly elections, the Directorate of Schools issued a Government Order directing all schools to fly the Indian flag half-mast on Friday April 8, 2005 to mourn the death of Pope John Paul II, and send a "compliance report". Some of us wanted to ask why a secular government was issuing GOs to secular State schools and private religious schools (not Government-aided) to mourn the religious head of a foreign religious institution. But we thought it would be uncultured and politically incorrect, so we remained silent.

Such Oriental niceties have been given short shrift in the White Western world that Karol Wojtyla straddled with elan for nearly three decades. Vatican's decision to let Cardinal Bernard Law lead a funeral Mass in Rome has caused outrage in America, where Law had to quit as Boston Archbishop in 2002 for protecting paedophile priests (Reuters, April 8, 2005). The Archdiocese is currently paying over $86 million as compensation to hundreds of persons abused by priests. Law's rehabilitation as archpriest of the Basilica of St Mary Major in Rome has therefore upset the devout.

Many Catholics found John Paul II's papacy disappointing because of his painful indifference towards married priests, women who lost lives, fertility and health in botched abortions, theologians dissatisfied with many aspects of church doctrine, persons caring for AIDS victims, gay Catholics longing for communion, victims of sexually abuse by priests, women wishing to be priests, and so on. The Pope's high profile vis-a-vis the Communist regimes of the erstwhile Soviet Union and Eastern Europe in no way exonerates his "episodic and selective commitments to human rights throughout the world", as Frances Kissling, president, Catholics for a Free Choice, put it succinctly.

Kissling was anguished that while the Pope had no problem meeting persons like Kurt Waldheim, he steadfastly refused to meet a single victim of clerical sexual abuse. It bears noting that some the John Paul II's close friends, notably Cardinal Hans Hermann Groer and Kurt Krenn, Bishop of St Poeltin, were forced out of office amidst allegations of sex scandals.

Regarding John Paul II's reputation as a crusader for human rights, well, many Catholic women think he excluded half of humanity. A staunch advocate of traditional Church policies on women, he refused to ordain women as priests, and condemned contraception, condoms and abortion. He and his conservative advisers worked hard to roll back reforms from the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965), which gave women more say in the liturgy and allowed altar girls to serve Mass. In fact, the Church excommunicated seven women from Germany, Austria and the United States, who were ordained in Austria in 2002.

This arch conservatism alienated both religious and lay women who felt ignored, with the result that the US alone saw a sharp drop in nuns' orders, from 179954 in 1965 to 73316 in 2003. In Ireland, church opposition to divorce and contraception has led it to being perceived as irrelevant and outdated. Critics especially carp at the Pope's opposition to the use of condoms to combat AIDS in Africa, artificial birth control to curb rising population in many countries, and abortion for Bosnian women (mostly Muslims) who were raped by Serb soldiers.

Much has been made of his extensive travels across the world, and his so-called inter-faith dialogues. Former Prime Minister Inder Gujral's wife, Sheila, lauds him for visiting synagogues and mosques and meeting the Dalai Lama (Indian Express, April 9, 2005). It is true that the Pope apologised to the Jews for the Vatican's anti-Semitism and its aloofness during Hitler's Final Solution. He also apologised to the Eastern Orthodox Christians and the Muslims for papal advocacy of the Crusades and the forced conversions and massacres in the Balkans during World War II.

But how sincere were these apologies? The Pope elevated to sainthood such scum as Cardinal Stepinac of Croatia, who supported the Nazi puppet regime of Ante Pavelic and endorsed the shameful treatment of Orthodox Christians and Jews there. Similarly, Josemaria Escriva de Balaguer, the sinister founder of Opus Dei and close ally of the Spanish dictator, General Franco, was canonised. Many justly felt that such actions undid the benefits expected from "dialogue".

Of course, cunning political spiritualist that he was, John Paul II was much too canny to advocate respect for or dialogue with Hindu dharma, the native and majority faith of this land. This is because he had identified India as a recruiting ground to revive his dying church by converting the populace and subjugating it to the diktat of Rome. Ms Gujral may not notice or care, but those of us who love our Ishta Devatas see the hectoring of men like Karol Wojtyla as an affront to our religious freedom.

Even Western Catholics are disturbed over the manner in which Karol Wojtyla, from the time of his tenure as Archbishop of Krakow, aligned completely with the financially powerful but secretive Opus Dei movement, which has been linked to fascist regimes and is now active in the world of finance, politics and journalism. He went so far as to give Opus Dei special legal status, exempting the organisation from supervision by local bishops, as dissident German theologian Hans Kung points out. Clearly the Catholic Church is in deep crisis. It remains to be seen if it can see the way forward.

Chinese Scholars Expose Evils of "Canonized" Missionaries

http://english.peopledaily.com.cn/english/200010/06/eng20001006_51892.html

Over 20 Chinese experts on history and religions held a symposium Thursday, exposing the crimes committed by recently "canonized" foreign missionaries and their followers.

Scholars listed a number of facts to illustrate that in mondern history Catholic missionaries' activities were closely linked with foreign forces' invasion of China.

Prof. Dai Yi said, "lots of foreign missionaries followed the warships of foreign aggressors to China in and after the Opium War, and actually foreign aggression and missionaries' activities are combined into one. That is, missionaries' activities were an integral part of invasion, missionaries acted as guides and tools for foreign aggressors and in return, aggressors paved the way for the missionaries' activities."

Some participants elaborated on the historic background and inner causes of "religious cases" in history, stressing that it is the foreign missionaries that should answer for the consequences because their monstrous evils exasperated the Chinese people and eventually fused the outburst of the Yi He Tuan (known as Boxers) Movement.

Participants pointed out that foreign missionaries executed in certain "religious cases", such as Auguste Chapdelaine, Franciscus de Capillas and Albericus Crescitelli, had only themselves to blame for still being hated by people today, because they had stopped no evil.

The Holy See, disregarding the strong opposition from the Chinese people, "canonized" these infamous missionaries, which reveals the Vatican's vicious intention to intervene in China's internal affairs through religious activities, the scholars said, pointing out that the "canonization" tramples on the sovereignty of the Chinese Catholic Church, as well as a severe provocation to the 1.2 billion Chinese people.

The scholars all voiced their protest over the perverse and vicious deeds of the Vatican, saying that the present China is strong enough to protect its national security and national dignity and any attempt to distort history and humiliate the Chinese people is doomed to failure. According to the sponsors of the symposium, the participants are professors and researchers from the People's University of China, the Beijing University, the Beijing Normal University, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and other academic institutes, who specialize in history or religion.

John Paul II and Josemaria OD and General Franco

It is very important to know that John Paul II and Josemaria Escriba are like an egg, John Paull II is the outer shell and Josemaria is the inner yolk. One cannot exist without the other. JPII (and the Vatican) is the outer prop while Opus Dei works behind the scene -- for "Opus Dei world domination".

To understand Opus Dei and its global power, here is an objective study. http://www.catholicsforchoice.org/pubs/publications/1997opusdeithepopesrightarm.asp

According to this scholarly investigation:

Opus Dei is one of the most powerful—and reactionary—organisations in the Roman Catholic church today. The organisation troubles liberal Catholics, but its devotion to promoting, as public policy, the Vatican’s inflexibly traditionalist approach to women, sexuality and reproductive health is cause for concern far beyond the boundaries of Catholicism.

Opus Dei pursues the Vatican’s agenda through the presence of its members in secular governments and institutions and through a vast array of academic, medical, and grassroots pursuits. Its constant effort to increase its presence in civil institutions of power is supported by growth in the organisation as a whole: worldwide membership increased by 5 percent during the first half of this decade, and Opus Dei ordains up to a hundred new priests a year and opens forty centres annually. The organisation’s aim, according to Crônica, a magazine for members, is “to hallow and Christianise the institutions of the peoples, of science, culture, civilisation, politics, the arts and social relations.” Because of the high degree of members’ allegiance to Opus Dei and its religious agenda, their work in the public sphere breaches the church-state division that is fundamental to modern democracy. It is essential, then, to monitor the organisation’s undertakings in secular arenas—a task made difficult by the fact that individuals’ membership is often undisclosed to the public.

On International Developments:

There is no question that Opus Dei members see themselves locked in battle against “antinatalist” forces manipulating the United Nations and the European Union. That they see themselves in partnership with the pope in this campaign is apparent from the similar ways in which Opus Dei and the Vatican approach and speak of international events such as the recent UN conferences on population and development, in Cairo in 1994, and on women, in Beijing in 1995.

The Vatican’s attitude toward the conference on population was captured by Cardinal Alfonso Lopez Trujilló, the president of the Pontifical Council for the Family, when he said "The battle begins in Cairo.” That war cry was echoed by Opus Dei member Pier Giovanni Palla, director of the study centre of an Opus Dei organisation called the Istituto per la Cooperazione Universitaria, a development NGO. “The Strategy of the UN Is Against the Family,” declared the title of an article Palla published in the July 1994 Studi Cattolici, the Italian monthly close to Opus Dei. Palla wrote of “the offensive the Vicar of Christ has launched against clear and hidden manipulators of conscience.” Hinting at the identity of these “manipulators of conscience,” he referred to the “powerful of the Earth,” those who possess the ideological and financial control of the great international organisations and the politics of aid to the developing countries.” First among these, Palla said, was US president Bill Clinton.

To combat such Delegates, Opus Dei has actively promoted the appointment to government delegations of its members and others sympathetic to Opus Dei’s hard line on reproductive health. It was rumoured at Cairo that when the Vatican needed more allies, unsympathetic delegates from Central and South American countries were dismissed and replaced with Opus Dei members who would heed the Vatican line. Certainly the majority of the countries that allied themselves with the Vatican were those in which Opus Dei has a strong political presence—for example, Argentina, Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, Malta, and the Philippines.

To understand the merciless nature of Opus Dei and how they trample on the Jesuits like Jon Sobrino, it is important to know the basic facts (subtle) about its founder, Josemaria Escriba - like his letter to Franco below. (We refuse to call him a "saint").

See Benedict XVI and Jon Sobrino, God's Rottweiler voracious appetite for the Jesuits, Jon Sobrino and Liberation Theology
-- http://pope-ratz.blogspot.com/2007/05/benedict-xvi-gods-rottweiler-appetite.html
and -- http://pope-ratz.blogspot.com/2007/08/benedict-xvi-vicar-of-christ-and-jon.html

Would a real saint associate with a mass murderer like Pinochet or with Franco? The Jesuits woulnd't and they would denounce and write against social injustice and many have been martyred because of their work for the cause of the poor -- like the Jesuit Martyrs of El Salvador in 1989 (they worked together with Archbishop Romero). http://jp2m.blogspot.com/2006/11/john-paul-ii-shirked-el-salvador.html

But the Opus Dei side with the rich and powerful like Pinochet and Franco and with the the elite, therefore in essence, they are united with the oppressors of the poor. (More on this later on).

Letter from Escriva to Franco

In the following letter, Opus Dei founder, Escriva, congratulates Spanish dictator Francisco Franco on the union of church and state in Spain. According to Giles Tremlett [1], "Opus Dei's 84,000 members around the world deny [Escriva] actively supported Franco;" however, this document shows that at the very least Escriva admired Franco.

Opus Dei also denies that the organization has a political agenda, and claims that its members have complete freedom as well as personal responsibility for their actions. However, the following quote from Escriva's book The Way, which Alberto Moncada [2] describes as a summary of Escriva's "national catholicism," illustrates how difficult it would be for a member of Opus Dei to reconcile this personal freedom with his counsel:

"Nonsectarianism. Neutrality. Those old myths that always try to seem new. Have you ever bothered to think how absurd it is to leave one's catholicism aside on entering a university, or a professional association, or a scholarly meeting, or Congress, as if you were checking your hat at the door?"[3]

Letter from Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer
to Francisco Franco, May 23, 1958

The following letter, translated from Spanish (original Spanish text found here) was published in the January-February, 2001 issue of Razón Española (magazine title means Spanish Reason). Copies of this and other letters from Msgr. Escrivá de Balaguer to Franco are kept in the Fundación Nacional Francisco Franco (National Foundation of Francisco Franco) (Marqués de Urquijo, 28, 28008 Madrid, Spain). The originals belong to Generalísimo Franco’s only daughter, Carmen.

To his Excellency Francisco Franco Bahamonde, Head of State of Spain

Your Excellency:

I wish to add my sincerest personal congratulation to the many you have received on the occasion of the promulgation of the Fundamental Principles.

My forced absence from our homeland in service of God and souls, far from weakening my love for Spain, has, if it were possible, increased it. From the perspective of the eternal city of Rome, I have been able to see better than ever the beauty of that especially beloved daughter of the church which is my homeland, which the Lord has so often used as an instrument for the defense and propagation of the holy, Catholic faith in the world.

Although alien to any political activity, I cannot help but rejoice as a priest and Spaniard that the Chief of State’s authoritative voice should proclaim that, “The Spanish nation considers it a badge of honor to accept the law of God according to the one and true doctrine of the Holy Catholic Church, inseparable faith of the national conscience which will inspire its legislation.” It is in fidelity to our people’s Catholic tradition that the best guarantee of success in acts of government, the certainty of a just and lasting peace within the national community, as well as the divine blessing for those holding positions of authority, will always be found.

I ask God our Lord to bestow upon your Excellency with every sort felicity and impart abundant grace to carry out the grave mission entrusted to you.

Please accept, Excellency, the expression of my deepest personal esteem and be assured of my prayers for all your family.

Most devotedly yours in the Lord,
Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer
Rome, May 23, 1958
